GHB Staten Train Jam 2010 Photos
The GHB Staten Train Jam was a huge success. There was a huge turnout and lot’s of shredding went down. I honestly thought at most we would have 10-15 people riding with us but the group just kept getting larger and larger and blew my expectations away. We started with about 7 people at St George and were joined by more and more people throughout the Jam. At our peak we had about 30 people riding with us, it was absolute mayhem at some points but 100% fun the entire time. Thank you everyone for coming out and making this event the most fun I’ve had all year. Look out for another GHB Staten Train Jam in November of 2011. Check out the photos below.

Jerry AKA Launchpad AKA Lunchbox got the day started out right at Pronto Pizzeria, the finest Italian food made by Albanians.

This was the start of the Train Jam. I thought the group was gonna be this big through the entire jam but luckily things didn’t quite work out that way.

Small crew just hanging out at the St George Ferry Terminal

After riding the Ferry Terminal we took a cruise through the Terminal and headed to ride the Yankee Stadium rails and ledges.

Jerry hitting the rail. We had some people looking on and at this point the group had grown to about 15.

As you can clearly see I didn’t land this but it’s the only picture from this spot we have. I did however nut myself pretty badly on this rail and luckily Zack filmed that. They were doing some construction so we only rode here for about 10 minutes before they brought in the backhoe completely blocking the spot. Also worth noting is the re bar thats welded to the railing. The spot is still ridable but definitely not as fun.

Next stop was another Staten classic, the Hooters bank to ledge. Here’s Tommy doing a Luc-E stall on the ledge. We had about 20 people at this point all crowding the street, it was definitely a nice site. Behind Tommy you’ll see a small group of people attempting to fix a broken chain, this went on for about 30 minutes.

Here’s Jonathan Jaramillo doing a double peg to hop over at P.S. 52. This kid and a few others from Queens met up with us at this spot and everyone was shredding.

Alex Avilla shredding the streets with an icepick grind down the rail.

Jerry eating it on the rail.

Quigles getting busy with a double peg grind down the rail.

Zack was busy filming the entire jam and really did a kick ass job. You are the man Zack.

They didn’t quite finish the job at the Hooters bank to ledge so I had to show them how to fix a chain in under 30 minutes the right way.

Didn’t get this kids name but he came all the way from Queens and was killing it. I think this is a manual to bar.

Jonathan with a hang 5 across the ledge

The next stop was Tysens banks. This is the crew at it’s largest, about 29 people here. The second dude on the left in the front came all the way from Scotland to ride the jam. To everyones surprise there was not one guido there so we had the entire spot to ourselves.

No footed Can Can as Queens looks on in awe of my crazy skills.

The Train Jam started at 11AM came to an end at about 9:30PM. Everyone had a really great time and the turnout was way better than expected. Thank you to everyone who came out to ride and showed their support for GHB by buying a shirt or a hoodie. This is going to be a yearly thing so be sure to come back November 2011 for the 3rd Annual GHB Staten Train Jam.
Zack got a shit load of footage and is working on it as we speak so check back soon for the Train Jam edit.
