About

Group Home Bikes has nothing to do with group homes but a lot to do with bikes.

Old GHB story.

The story behind GHB begins with our friend   Ben Soto who as the oldest of our trio gladly took the role as out mentor. One of his dreams had always been to have a skate park on Staten Island. Since the first time we rode our bikes alongside Ben, we never thought that in ten years we would still be riding our bikes. Ben Soto enlisted in the Marine Corp after high school and was stationed in Japan. At the age of 21, he passed away of a heart attack.  As a testament to our fallen friend. Vinny Formisano, Tom Grunwald, Marc Kachtan, Eric Grunwald and others (you know who you are), we naturally continued where he left off. We began writing letters, writing emails, lobbying, and even drew out the plans for the skate park ourselves, and on April 1. 2004,  (April Fools Day) we finally made Bens dream come true. We had a midland beach skate park on Staten Island, and it was named after and dedicated to our friend Ben Soto. Group Home Bikes is a BMX company based on the true friendship we shared with one another.
