Train Riding

Posted by on Apr 22, 2011 in News | 0 comments

Today after work I met up with everyone at P.S. Filmed there for a little bit thanks to Joey Stazzone for letting us borrow his camera. After there we all took the train back to Steve’s and started fucking around on the train. When the train would stop, people would get on their bikes and go to the back of the train and use the trains momentum to shoot them all the way to the front. Some funny shit. Good
times haha. Everyone started doing whatever they could bunny hop and do. Tables, bars and tobogans. Here’s a few little photos.

Some Would Say Crazy or Obsessed.

Posted by on Feb 13, 2011 in Featured, News, Photos | 3 comments

Some would say crazy or obsessed, I would say passion or love. Today 5 people started to clean snow off the ramps and flat ground at the Ben Soto skate park. This happened for 2 reasons: the first is that we have nowhere to go, and an indoor skate park is nonexistent. All we have on Staten Island is the Benjamin Soto skate park, which is currently in terrible condition. Secondly, Marie Carmody-LaFrancesca from Councilmen Oddo’s office has contacted the Parks Department and they stated that they planned to repair the ramps, but due to the weather conditions (snow on the ramps) they cannot. 5 of us started at12:30 PM, 5 turned into 8, then 10, then 15, and then 20. At the end of the day there were 25 bikers, skateboarders, scooter riders and mountain bikers cleaning the snow and ice off the ramps. 5 hours later, almost the whole park was cleaned off. I would like to say thanks to Nick for bringing an extra snow blower, and thanks to all the people who braved the wet snow and ice in 40-degree weather to clean the skate park. I have never seen a sport so bonded.

South Beach Civic Association Meeting

Posted by on Nov 24, 2010 in News, Photos, Politrikkks | 0 comments

There were even more people from the Ben Soto Skate Park at the South Beach Civic Association meeting tonight than the last meeting. Congressmen elect Michael Grimm read the group a touching letter about a US Marine who died, and how his Brother (also a US Marine) accompanied his body to his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery . It was a very emotional story.  Paula from Open Road followed Michael Grimm by addressing the needs surrounding the skatepark and I read a letter of my own too (see the letter here).  Grimm responded to my letter by promising to help fix the Ben Soto skatepark. He also guaranteed that he would meet with us about the abandoned airplane hangers in Miller field as soon as he is sworn into office. Afterward, state assembly elect Nicole Malliotakis, and Janine Maturna spoke about other community issues.

We would like to say thanks to RoseAnn, Joe McAllister and the rest of  South Beach Civic Association for letting us speak, and Virginia Sherry from the Staten Island Advance.

More people than last time. We actually ran out of chairs.

Danny has been supporting BMX since I started in 1998. Keep it up!

Everything is on video. Watch what you say in front of these filmers. It will be on Facebook/Youtube/Vimeo in minutes. Good work you guys!

Weekend reminders

Posted by on Oct 29, 2010 in Events, News | 0 comments

This weekend is looking to be a good one. Here’s a rundown of what’s going on.

Friday 10/29/10

The Red Bull Trick or Treat Jam

Word on the street is that there are some after parties going down in Manhattan after this event so be sure so make your way out to this.

Saturday 10/30/10

The rally to restore a decent layout to Alex’s yard.

Make your way out to Alex’s Saturday morning (9:30am) to help us redo the layout. The image above is just a dream but hopefully we can make it a reality if enough people come to lend a helping hand. If you can’t stack wood or don’t plan on getting shit done then don’t bother to come.

Sunday 10/31/10

Sunday we will be having a GHB Halloween Jam at Alex’s yard, AKA the GHB training facility.

Dress up and shred, it’s gonna be fun.

Buy these bars!

Steve Quigley and Alex Avilla were playing a game of bike when Mr. Quigley went in for the kill with an opposite bar. Alex being the cocky mother fucker he is decided to go for it without thinking and ate shit. As the story goes Alex blew his lid and began to re contemplate suicide but instead opted for throwing his bike in true Alex Avilla fashion. Here is the outcome.

And…

After the event went down I did a little sit down interview with the man, the myth, the quigley himself.

Bupsy: Quigles you’re on fire this year and things don’t seem to be slowing down. How do you do it?

Quigley: Well I started masturbating using my left hand to even out my arm muscles and I’ve also been carrying around my lucky butt plug.

Bupsy: How do you plan on celebrating this epic win of bike?

Quigley: I think I’m going to go hang out at Al’s deli for a little bit and buy a round of dollar Arizonas for the boys, then I’m gonna browse the Group Home Bikes website all night and maybe rub one out to those pictures I took of that milf that always watches her kids scootering at the park.

Bupsy: Sounds like it’s going to be a hell of a night. Whatever happened with Alex? Will he be riding again?

Quigley: Alex is a punk ass bitch and I could care less what he does with the rest of his life. I mean seriously, the only thing that matters to Quigley is Quigley, and I’m not talking about that wanna be Charlie Quigley. He ain’t no real Quigley, he ain’t shit.

Bupsy: For real.

There you have it folks. Best of luck to Quigley with his latest win, it’s going to be a bright future for this guy.

Alex's Backyard Mini

“Today was a good day.” One example is the photo shoot that I was witness to in the city. These chicks were hot and walking all over the place in little ass bikinis. This was an omen that I wasn’t going to have  to take out my 9mm.

Headed out to Shaolin to do some riding, when Shlomo told me there was some ramp building going on. So I decided to pay it forward. Good times were had by all.

Ramps are in Alex's back yard finally.

Us after work.

After weeks of trying to move the ramps from the Cromwell Center we finally did it thanks to the people in this Photo and the person who took the Photo Eugene Alex’s Dad. Secret Spot  will be up soon.
