Posted by on Aug 8, 2011 in Videos | 0 comments

Augie headed out to Cali last week to go ride the Nike HB Contest with Garret and some other people. I think Augie and his team got fifth place and Sean Sexton’s team got first. Peep it and watch Augie do a superman over a huge rail.

More random riding photos

This is Sunil and Sebass lookin’ like a couple of homos in front of Slayerville skatepark

I had a real big picture of this on my computer but I accidentally deleted it. Alexis (the photographer of said photo) also had the original but I deleted his shit by accident too.

This is me chillin with Platinum at the trails before her rapid weight loss. Platinum is a marijuana eating weimaraner owned by… you guessed it, Alexis.

This is a photo of my friend Marty back when I was a camper at Woodward in 2005. I always tell people who haven’t gone to Woodward as a camper that the fun is 70% the people you meet and 30% riding. I have met some of the craziest people at Woodward and am lucky to have been able to go.

This is an old ass photo of me doing what looks like is an irish jig mid-air but is actually a downside whip. I tried to go as high as I could on this one and immediately ate shit upon my attempted landing. The fall resulted in me fucking up my hand and not being able to ride for quite some time… something that is becoming more and more frequent. I really love riding but sometimes I wish I didn’t fall so much. This photo was taken by Ben Hittle.

Here’s P.S. 6 local Joe Stazzone doing some kind of skateboard stunt. I’m clueless when it comes to skateboarding but it boggles my mind how people can maneuver a plank of wood so well using only their feet.

Tom Espo took this photo of me at our beloved but now pile of shit skatepark. This photo is the reason I don’t grow my hair out any longer. Perhaps I should have looked in the mirror a little more often.

Another shot at what used to be a good skatepark of Spam, Paino and I. Alexis took this photo.

This is my buddy Dennis Dombrow. I met him at Woodward through my friend Kevin Tierney way back in 2002-2003. Dennis is one of the funniest people I have ever met. He moved from Chicago to Texas and lived with Aaron Ross and Chase Hawk. You can watch him slicing fruit with a samari sword at said house in a somewhat recent Props interview. One time at camp he was wrestling our counselor and nearly snapped his neck. Dennis can now be found fighting people in cages as a professional MMA fighter. You can follow Dennis on twitter @d_liciousD.

This sums up Augie pretty well, wild as fuck. Augie is an extremely talented BMX rider and one hell of a dude. Little known fact: Augie is actually Italian and not Mexican.

This place was heaven on earth for me. These are the legendary South Beach ramps. So much shit has gone down here, so many memories, so many friends and so many good times. I spent every minute I could riding and hanging out at these ramps. I wish I could go back and do it all over again.

Riding Photos Old and New

Posted by on Jul 27, 2011 in Featured, Photos | 0 comments

After putting together my China 2011 post I began browsing through some old riding pics reliving memories of BMX sessions past. In a strategic effort to regain some hits for the Group Home Bikes site I’ve decided to share some of the more interesting photos. Some may have been posted on here before, but I’m too lazy to check. So here for your entrainment is a select few of my riding pictures that I deemed worthy of posting on the inter webs. Enjoy.

What better way to start off a post titled “Riding Photos” with a picture of a dog. Rufus posing for the camera while the humans shred PS6.

Alex with a mean mugged hop whip at PS6.

Another hop whip photo but this time by someone way more handsome. TO THE PEDALS BITCH.

Alex is a cat person.

I did this trick about 500 times but Vin Crispino’s greasy pizza fingers couldn’t snap the photo on time.

You know it’s bad when Bayonne has a better skatepark than you do. Thanks Adena.

Speaking of our gone but not forgotten skatepark, here’s a photo of me getting upside down pre-Adena “Fuck your park up” Long got into power. The bulimic dude in the background is Brian Laughner who is currently on his second or third tour in Iraq. Get home safe buddy.

Gary Nilsson with a foot jam toothpick to fakie at lakewood circa 2007-08

Andrew Paino with a tail whip gap at that park with the chess tables.

Augie had to move all the way to Jersey just to learn turndowns.

Riding can be painful at times, especially the older you get. I feel like every time I step on my bike I’m injuring something new… I need more practice.

Roman chillin with his homies in the hood. Peace nigga!

Note to self: Never hand Little Mike the camera. Don’t get me wrong, I love Little Mike with all my heart and soul but the dude just was not made to be filming people.

The year is 2011 and the BMX industry still has not figured an easy way to get this done. Fuck everything about replacing a bottom bracket. Next time I need a new bottom bracket I’m just going to buy a new frame.

Yours truly getting wild at H-Town. I hate going upside down, the longer I ride the closer to the ground I like to stay.

Small panorama from inside the Rape Van. I have spent many hours on the floor of this van worrying that the next lane drift will be my last. I’m sure many of your reading this have experienced the same.

That’s it for today’s photos. Tomorrow I plan on putting up some more China photos as well as doing another one of these posts. There are still many more photos…

Augie's Hell House Bowl

Posted by on Jul 8, 2011 in Featured, Videos | 0 comments

Augie recently did a little interview/edit featuring himself looking a little spicy and Devon Smillie riding his garage bowl. Check out the video below.

Augie may be a big hotshot in bumble fuck New Jersey but Staten is where he got his start. I hope he never forgets that, I know I won’t…

Augie coming in hot with a wall ride at South Beach’s Fortress of Solitude in late 2001.

Boosted superman over the spine at the legendary South Beach ramps.

10 years makes a big difference.

Ed's BMX Games 2011 edit

Posted by on Jun 27, 2011 in Videos | 0 comments

Last month, Ed Abbott, owner of Ed’s Bike Shop in Vineland, N.J., held the third annual Ed’s Games in South Jersey. In an effort to give back to the local scene, Ed’s Bike Shop throws a huge jam, attended by locals and visiting pro teams (Animal, Cult, Sunday, Eastern) for the benefit of the local scene. This is a document of the that day, with riding and commentary from Van Homan, Ed Abbott, Robbie Morales, and more.” -Matt Brown
