Eric Isaksen Photos #1
Here are 25 photos from Eric Isaksen. He started bike riding and shooting photo’s when the Benjamin Soto skate park opened in 2005. Recently he has moved on to other things. But he gave GHB his photos for your enjoyment. He gave GHB about 75 photos. So we are going to do 3 sets of 25 or so.

Thursday Throwback – Dirty South
I found this video posted on VitalBMX while looking for something to put up for the Thursday Throwback.
10 years ago myself along with Justin Holt and Brad “Puck” Byrne produced this bmx video featuring riders from NC, VA, FL, GA and the Rotation BMX team. It was originally released on VHS tape!
I wonder if any of these dudes still ride today… getting old sucks.
South Beach Civic Association Meeting
There were even more people from the Ben Soto Skate Park at the South Beach Civic Association meeting tonight than the last meeting. Congressmen elect Michael Grimm read the group a touching letter about a US Marine who died, and how his Brother (also a US Marine) accompanied his body to his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery . It was a very emotional story. Paula from Open Road followed Michael Grimm by addressing the needs surrounding the skatepark and I read a letter of my own too (see the letter here). Grimm responded to my letter by promising to help fix the Ben Soto skatepark. He also guaranteed that he would meet with us about the abandoned airplane hangers in Miller field as soon as he is sworn into office. Afterward, state assembly elect Nicole Malliotakis, and Janine Maturna spoke about other community issues.
We would like to say thanks to RoseAnn, Joe McAllister and the rest of South Beach Civic Association for letting us speak, and Virginia Sherry from the Staten Island Advance.

Fresh Kills (LandFill) Park.
On Sunday October 3rd. I was one of the 1500 lucky people who got a small tour of the old Flesh Kills land Fill. Which in a few years will be the Flesh Kills Park. Sounds crazy but I seen this before in Virginia Beach, Virginia. There is actually a skate park there called Mount Trashmore. Yes that is not a typo of Rush more its Trashmore.
See the amazing photos and Video below.
